The Glitch: visual slip.
One evening in lockdown 2020, when our photo club got together for a Zoom call, I noticed Caroline's video created an interesting double exposure effect mixing herself and her digital background. ThisGlitchh made me think that glitches force us to pause and reflect by breaking the expected, almost hypnotic flow of visual information and meaning within digital communication systems. I found pixelated aesthetics layered with the "traditional" images compelling. It connects me with impressionistic paintings where pixels as brush stocks constantly remind us of our rapid immersive and not consistently smooth but often "glitchy" global transition into the digital world.
